Most people who tend to get angry also usually have some unhelpful thinking patterns going on in their heads.
Overthinking is one of these and so is negative self-talk. Overthinking results in little issues becoming huge problems and negative self-talk results in limiting beliefs that they have about themselves. I address both of these unhelpful thinking patterns and also teach you the key skill of reframing. That is, the ability to look at something that you may have imagined or classified as a bad thing and teach you how to look at things from another perspective in order that you can see the good in anything. Reframing is very powerful because once you have this skill developed, you remove bad things from your life, resulting in a happier you. This also minimises the chances of getting angry also.
In the COMPOSURE PROGRAM, I also teach you about the key element of good communication and that is the whole concept of rapport. I teach you what it is, how to get it, how to know if you have lost and how to get it back if you drop out of rapport with a person you are communicating with. I also you to flex your communication style and help you to become more aware of your tonality.
I also teach a number of other concepts and provide you with some recorded hypnosis sessions that you can use whenever you want to help you to chill out, calm down and to relax.
1. We'll start with checking your expectations and help you to realise anything that upsets you can only upset you depending on the expectations you place on yourself. Most upsets can be avoided if we were just real with ourselves to know we may have been expecting too much.
2. Next, we will help you to look at some of the beliefs you hold about anger that are facilitating anger to occur. Once we have identified these, we tweak those beliefs linguistically to change them from limiting beliefs to enabling beliefs. We also spend a little bit of time looking at where you may have picked up your beliefs about anger earlier in your life.
3. Next, I will explain how the 5 second method works and get you started on this 10-day exercise that will fundamentally change you from being a reactor to being a responder.
At the completion of this section, Phase 1, you will already be feeling significantly calmer and more composed. You may even be feeling confident about your ability to maintain composure at this stage.
4. In phase 2 of the COMPOSURE PROGRAM, we start to address what I call, stinking thinking. These are unhelpful thought processes such as overthinking and negative self-talk, neither of which help you in your quest to be a man oif composure.
5. I also teach you about the Mind-Body loop, which is about getting a better understanding of your nervous system. Because it is your nervous system that is responsible for how you think and how you feel. To maintain composure, it is essential you gain skills in learning how to control your nervous system.
6. One of the best ways to control your nervous system is through the skills of reframing. That is, the ability to reframe meaning because things are only good or bad depending on the meaning you give things. It is therefore critical that we exercise some choice when deciding if something is good or bad.
At the completion of Phase 2, not only are you feeling composure, you are also feeling more grounded, stable and generally happier about things going on in your life.
7. Phase 3 is all about communication skills. I will teach you the most important component for any communication and that is the whole concept of rapport. I teach you all about it, how to recognise it, how to maintain it and how to get it back if you lose it.
8. I will also teach you about tonality and how important this vital part of communication is.
9. To complete the COMPOSURE PROGRAM, I will teach you how to make the distinction between what you notice and the meaning you give to what you notice, which is often confusing for most people, that leads to making false assumptions that we act on without really knowing the situation.
